Robert Pitchford, MSc

1974 to 1979

I left TDS at the age of 16 with 4 O-levels. I then attended Hereward FE College in Coventry for a further 2 years and attained another 2 O-levels and 3 A-levels.

In 1981 I entered Higher Education by beginning an HND at the then Manchester Polytechnic, graduating 4 years later with a HND and a BSc in Maths and Computers.

Soon after graduating I got a job at Manchester University Computer Science Department as a programmer.

I worked at the University for 13.5 years, both for Computer Science and, for the final two years for the University's Admin. Computer department.

In June 1999 I moved from the Manchester area to Hampshire, this being for family reasons, were I joined the Ordnance Survey, in Southampton, as a software System Developer.

In addition to the above, I passed my driving test in 1988, and attained a part-time MSc in 1996.

My outside interests include reading and following sport, I also did a lot of voluntary work for Scope in the North West before moving to the South Coast.

Robert describes himself as 'old free and single'.
